This is a versatile box of Achaemenid period Persian spearmen with, scale, linen and quilted armour represented and a variety of weapon options including spears, swords and axes. Taken together with the three types of shields this means you can build front-rank spear for Sparabara using the rectangular wicker shields, takabara (though probably better to use the unarmored for these) using the crescent shaped ones or the slightly later Kardakes if you equip them with the Greek-style round shields. The addition of two command sprues with officers, musicians and standard bearers completes the package nicely meaning you have everything to make two good- sized units for most game systems. The only limitation is in body pose options with 3 out of 4 of the bodies thrusting over arm which can make ranking these guys up a little challenging. Overall a great product with historical accuracy and sculpting up to Victrix’s normal high standard.
