The first Pillage/Victrix Mini-Magazine!
"Well, well, well... Are you comfortably settled? All set? A cosy
blanket, a cup of tea — or perhaps a pint of Guinness — resting on
your knees?
Perfect. Let us begin.
You are now holding, or rather reading, the pilot issue of the
brand-new SHIELDWALL magazine. Quite something indeed.
SHIELDWALL is the magazine dedicated to the games and news of
Victrix, centred around Pillage and all of its worlds.
Within these pages you will discover new scenarios, stunning
miniatures, breathtaking modelling tutorials, and historical
articles to help you delve ever deeper into the periods we love.
Because SHIELDWALL is a magazine born of passion. Yes, I know, the word “passion” has become somewhat worn as a marketing
phrase. Yet here, it truly reflects the spirit behind these pages.
The Pillage community has contributed greatly to bring you high-
quality articles, created by and for wargamers.
These pages are therefore driven by genuine enthusiasm, and I
hope you will enjoy their unique flavour, even if this remains, for
now, a very amateur endeavour without funding.
If you enjoy this project, do let us know.
Perhaps one day, it may grow into a fully fledged magazine..."
Being a modeller rather than a gamer I was more interested in the projects than the game scenarios, but overall it was an interesting read.
It reminds me of getting model magazines of when I was a boy in the 90s, but with the modern edge. It’s a fantastic concept and I have nothing bad to say about it at all. From historical information, to game info, to even having a section on terrain building. I have missed this creative and informative format. Too many these days are more about corporate objectives, instead of just being there with their customers and not seeming like they just want their money. It’s brilliant.
Always a pleasure
Great introduction of new tactics and developments. The but on a home made castle was unbelievable. Unfortunately, I’m a bit too slow to manage such an impressive project so hopefully the next one is how to cut water bottles to look like a grain silo or something.
More, please!
