British Household Cavalry

This highly detailed set has multiple head and arm options to make a varied and dynamic unit of charging British Household Cavalry, including a command frame with trumpeter and Officer.

These can represent the Royal Horse Guards (wearing a blue uniform) and the 1st and 2nd Life Guards (wearing a red uniform)

As well as fighting in the Peninsula war they were heavily engaged during the Waterloo campaign in 1815. They helped screen the armies withdrawal from Quatra Bras and suffered many casualties as part of Lord Somersets Brigade at Waterloo itself (losing 320 men out of 696)

Whats in the box?

12 x Figures (including an officer and musician)

3 x Main Frame

1 x Command Frame

Across the Charleroi Road.

History has largely recorded the devastating impact of Sir William Ponsonby's Union Brigade upon D'Erlon's Infantry columns at Waterloo and the exploits of the three British Dragoon Regiments during that charge. The simultaneous charge of Sir Edward Somerset's Household Cavalry has become largely overshadowed but it was equally as important in it's impact when they charged obliquely across the Charleroi road into Baron Dubois Cuirassier Brigade on the flank of D'Erlon's I Corps attack.
The new British Household Cavalry figures from Victrix do not disappoint. Good clean moulding and high degree of detail and accuracy will make these multipose figures a joy to assemble and paint as either the Life Guards or Royal Horse Guards. These figures continue in the vein of the high standard that we have come to expect and be rewarded by Victrix.
