Warriors of Carthage

62 x 28mm 1/56th Scale Hard Plastic Multipose Miniatures

This superb box contains 62 highly detailed Warriors of Carthage, suitable for the 1st, 2nd & 3rd Punic Wars against Rome and also to fight against the Spanish, Gauls, Greeks and Numidians.

24 of Hannibal's hardened veterans wearing a mixture of Punic and captured Roman armour, stripped from the dead.

24 Liby-Phoenecian Heavy Infantry. They were good solid African infantry fighting in a tight phalanx much like the Greek Hoplite.

14 Libyan Javelinmen add some light infantry support for the heavy infantry. These were subject Libyan tribesmen supplying large quantities of javelin armed skirmishers who rebelled against Carthage on more than one occasion. They wore red tunics and were haevily tattooed.

Warriors of Carthage

Lovely sculpts, full of detail. The best way to get a great-looking army on the table for a decent price.

Good variety

I'm a big fan of the Victrix minis. I think they're excellent quality for the price and they offer a really great range of figures from ancient civilizations. I like that this set gives you 3 different types of regiments, but the downside is that it's hard to get more of any of the single types. For example, if I wanted more Libyan skirmishers, I'd need to buy another full set, and even then, I'd only get another 12.

I also noticed that the instructions are wrong for this kit. It doesn't tell you what spear arms are compatible with B4 and erroneously tells you that A8 fits B6.
Additionally, the casts for the roman scutum shields are kind of rough. It looks like the plastic wasn't injected properly or something.

Overall, a nice set, but with a few flaws.

Amazing value and quality.

Great value and quality. Enables building of many of the main north African components of the Carthaginian army. I should have got these years ago !

Models are great and come with loads of options.

Had a delay with transfers not being available, would have been great for an update on this without me having to chase it up.

Would definitely purchase from Victrix again.
