School Club games

Not a FAQ review, but I hope this recount of our experience is useful. I have introduced Pillage as a game in our school wargames club and it has been very well received so far. The players are aged between 12 and 15 years old and have some experience in playing wargames (in the far future!) already. They really enjoyed that this was a historical game, set in the Viking age and they were quick to tell me what they had learned in classes about Vikings. We played a 'livestock grab' and a 'monastery raid' pitting 500 points of Vikings against Normans, introducing cavalry to the second game. The players loved the Viking Berzerker rules, especially when he started staring at the pretty flowers. Both games were close and had 'cinematic' moments in them - shieldwalls facing off, cavalry outflanking and bowmen running for their lives. The boys picked up the basic rules pretty quickly and were able to use the reference sheets as reminders for the numbers they needed to roll. Updating the reference sheets with the correct abbreviations would be helpful.
