Siege Equipment

COMING SOON: Siege Equipment

This plastic set will give you all the essentials for a siege battle.

Battering rams smash down the gates and mantlets shelter your archers, while ladders and grappling hooks get your warriors over the walls. For the defenders there’s a cauldron of something nasty to pour on anyone who makes it to the top.

The set is designed for Pillage:Sieges & Strongholds, the new siege supplement for Pillage, but it works just as well with any siege rules. It’s a great fit for Dark Age, medieval and fantasy armies.

Both the book and the plastics will be out in very early 2027.

What’s in the set?

Battering rams and cover:

  • Large battering ram with wheeled penthouse: a heavy ram slung beneath a roofed, wheeled shed. Build it without the ram and it becomes a covered penthouse that shields troops as they advance on the walls.
  • Two hand-held battering rams: one has a carved ram’s head. The other has a choice of two heads: one reinforced with metal bands, or a simple log shaped to a point.
  • Archers’ mantlets: one large mantlet and two smaller wheeled mantlets, giving your archers cover from defensive fire.

Scaling the walls:

  • Scaling ladders: two styles of 10cm siege ladder.
  • Rope and grappling hook: a 10cm length of rope with a grappling hook, for climbing the walls.
  • Coiled rope and grappling hook: hangs from a miniature’s kit, ready for the climb.

Fire and defence:

  • Fire arrows: lit and unlit, to convert any Victrix archer.
  • Metal brazier: keeps a fire burning on the battlements, ready to light fire arrows and other incendiaries.
  • Cauldron on a frame: for tipping hot oil, sand, water or lime onto the attackers below.
  • Forked pole: lets defenders push enemy ladders away from the walls.
