Operations Manager
Location: Kendal, United Kingdom (full-time, hybrid option available)
The Role
We’re looking for an Operations Manager to take ownership of the systems, logistics, and processes that keep Victrix moving, enabling us to scale globally while delivering a seamless service to our customers worldwide.
This role will take charge of logistics and global fulfilment, ensuring products move efficiently from our warehouse to customers and trade partners. You’ll oversee shipping, customs, and stock control, but also bring a systems mindset, refining processes, integrating technology, and removing bottlenecks so the business can scale effectively.
The ideal candidate will be both technically minded and commercially aware. You’ll be confident navigating Shopify to manage orders, reporting, and inventory, while also bringing experience in international freight and customs paperwork. Beyond logistics, you’ll spot opportunities for efficiency and growth, whether that’s improving margins, streamlining workflows, or strengthening supplier relationships. This is a hands-on role in a fast-growing company, offering the chance to shape not just how Victrix delivers products, but how it grows in an expanding global market.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and improve daily operations, logistics, and order fulfilment.
- Manage global shipping, including small parcels, freight, and pallets.
- Handle customs paperwork, HS codes, and tariff requirements.
- Maintain accurate stock levels and ensure smooth warehouse operations.
- Confidently use Shopify for orders, inventory, and reporting.
- Identify opportunities to optimise costs, improve margins, and streamline workflows.
- Build and refine systems and processes that enable sustainable growth.
- Negotiate with suppliers and logistics partners to secure strong commercial terms.
- Provide reporting and insights to support decision-making across the business.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety and operational standards.
- Lead and support warehouse/office staff where required.
About You
- Proven experience in operations, logistics, or supply chain management.
- Strong understanding of international shipping, freight, and customs requirements.
- Comfortable working with Shopify (or similar e-commerce platforms).
- Commercially minded, able to spot opportunities for efficiency and growth.
- Technically minded, with a focus on systems, processes, and problem-solving.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Hands-on, proactive, and able to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Based within commuting distance of Kendal, UK, with full-time availability (hybrid working considered once established).
