Plastic Greeks are here at last!
Well, almost!
We have just received test sprues of the eagerly awaited Athenian Hoplites and have been busily sticking some units together to show them off. We could not be happier with the finished results and hope you agree with us that these are some of the finest plastic figures on the market. The detail is really sharp and crisp, and we must give a huge round of applause to the guys in the Tool room for the quality of work they have done.
The box contains 48 miniatures with thrusting and at rest arm positions, plus lots of extra options such as sword arms and speciality pieces to customize your figures, creating the huge variety of poses and character which people have come to expect from Victrix sets.
We are due to put the first Greek set ‘Athenian Armoured Hoplites’ on pre-order on 24thMay. Orders should start shipping around the 2nd/3rdof June.
The Spartans will follow the Athenian release about 2 weeks later, followed by the Thebans and the Mercenaries. Each set contains different heads and some extra parts options. All these sets will be able to be mixed together to add a massive amount of variety to your Hoplite armies.
We are hoping to receive test sprues of the next 3 sets in the next week. As soon as we have them we will be posting images on the site (we can’t wait to see those Spartans!)
Steve at LBMS is busily designing transfers for the models and they will be going up on the site early next week in time for the Athenians release.
We are delighted to be able to show you the first images of our soon to be released 54mm French Grenadiers and Voltigeurs sets.
These great looking figures shown here were painted for us by the (Very talented) chaps at Artmaster Studio. If you are after first class painting with a fast reliable turnaround these really are the guys to go to.
There are 16 figures per set. The Grenadiers have a mixture of bearskins and covered shakos with an Officer, Drummer and Porte Fanion. The Voltiguers have a mixture of long plumed and thistle tufted shakos with an officer and bugler. All the figures from both sets can be mixed together to make even more variety.
At present we are waiting for a conformation date of the production schedule from the tooling company and then they can go on release.
We are putting on a 54mm Napoleonic participation game at Salute this year. There will be over 300 well painted 54mm figures in the game with some converted French artillery (we used Italieri guns) Fun and fast play rules have been produced for the game by Dale French who will be umpiring the game. If you would like to take part in the game please drop us a line. We will be showing some pictures of the units and terrain as they come together in the next few weeks.
Our Ancient Greek sets are being worked on at present and we thought we would give you a brief update and show off some images of these great figures.
We are looking at the first set being released around April/may. If all goes well the Athenian set could be out for Salute, but if not very shortly after. We are going to have a staggered release with the Greeks as it solves production problems. So it will be Athenians, Spartans, Thebans and then Mercenaries. With a 2 to 3 week gap between each set.
Each set will contain 48 figures with so many variations possible it is hard to count them all. Interchangeable heads with separate crests. Arm positions including thrusting, at rest and sword arms. We also have cloaks to add to figures and musician arms to make your command figures. The spears are cast separate to the hands so you can replace them with metal spears if you wish. However the plastic spears will be more flexible and less prone to breaking off than metal.
At present we are showing some positions possible with the Athenians, Spartans and Thebans. We will follow up with some more photos’ soon ( It takes Julian a long time to piece all the options together and photograph them, so he deserves a break for a week!)

We are pleased to announce the release of our Early Russian Dragoons 1805-1808, and Russian Musketeer Firing line 1805-1808
These were sculpted by the ever employed and talented Paul Hicks! who has sculpted all of our metals. He has done an outstanding job on the Dragoons with a lovely attention to detail, character and dynamism. Each of the trooper packs comes with six separate arm variants to add a real sense of individuality to your Dragoon units. We have added a Dragoon deal to the shopping cart so you can get these wonderful figures at nice discount.
Adding to our ever expanding range of Early Russians we have a Musketeer firing line. These figures are full of action with every one an individual, you can really create those stolid lines of Russians for the French to break themselves upon. We have added a line battalion deal 2 to the shopping cart for you to buy your firing lines at a good price.
The Russian army deal and Infantry Brigade deals can have any of these new packs included in them. When ordering just let us know by email or telephone if you want to swap Cuirassiers for Dragoons, or Firing line for Marching packs.

There is no doubt that the internet has slowly but surely undermined the specialist model and hobby shops over the past few years. However, all is not lost for those that still like to make a personal trip to their local model and hobby shop.
