Our movement trays offer some real benefits to gamers making the progress of units across the games table easy, they keep the units in a neat and military looking formation and cut down on accidental breakages. The shape and size of the movement trays allows the gamer to create a number of different formations with ease including line, column, snaking column and square.

A 36 man battalion will require 9 x 40mm square bases and 3 movement trays so you will have plenty of bases and movement trays left over to use with other figures.
We are really pleased to announce the release of our new movement trays and basing system for infantry and cavalry that will take combinations of Victrix single, 2 man, 4 man and cavalry bases.
We designed the system to be very flexible allowing you to create a multitude of formations including lines, columns and squares.
It is easy to deploy from column to line or snaking column to square.
The base of the trays is polished to assist in sliding on textured surfaces and also easy to pick up which helps prevent gamers from damaging spears and flags.
The movement trays are suitable for many periods and rules systems that focus on frontages of 20mm such as ‘Black Powder’, ‘Clash of Empires’, ‘Warhammer Ancient Battles’ and ‘War and Conquest’.
The trays are very solid and made from high impact plastic so will not warp when exposed to water-based paints and basing materials. The purposely thin walls and low height make the trays visually unobtrusive on the tabletop. We also factored in 2mm extra space into the internal measurements to allow for basing material overhang which sometimes prevents bases from fitting in the trays properly.

The next item relates to the deals we will have on offer at Salute 2013 and to ease the mad crush on the day we are encouraging purchasers to e mail us with their Salute pre orders.
We will again be running our 54mm Napoleonic participation game at Salute this year. When we ran the game last year it was a huge success. It was a fast, fun and bloody game and involved players of all ages young and old, male and female.
It really opened quite a few people’s eyes to the possibility of gaming in 54mm.
The rules being used are our own home-grown 54mm rules which are in development at present and not far off being ready to publish. The participation game gives us a good player perspective on how good the rules are and we always welcome player feedback.
The game has been expanded to include a unit of French Dragoons and French Hussars. And what Spanish peninsular game would be complete without a unit of the 95th Rifles to keep those French officers’ heads down!

Anyone who pre-orders this set will receive a great new transfer sheet (designed by Steve Hales of Little Big Men Studios) to apply to the cartridge box covers and shako covers for every box they order.
Who were the Middle Guard?
In 1806 Napoleon decreed the formation of 2 new Guard regiments, the ‘Fusiliers-Chasseurs’ and ‘Fusiliers-Grenadiers’. They were junior to the Old Guard Grenadiers and Chasseurs but not in fighting quality. Their uniforms were very similar to the Old Guard, however they wore shakos instead of Bearskin headdress. The main difference was the Fusiliers-Grenadiers wore white Epaulettes instead of the usual red worn by Grenadiers. (This looks very striking on the dark blue greatcoat!)
Unlike the Old Guard who were often kept in reserve, the Middle Guard took part in many actions. They distinguished themselves at Heilsberg against the ferocious Russian assaults in 1807, helped suppress the Spanish uprising in Madrid in 1808, and in 1812 heroically held open the lines of retreat for the army against the advancing Russians at Krasnyi during the Russian campaign.
The shattered regiments were rebuilt in 1813 and were heavily committed during the Leipzig campaign. They formed the cornerstone of the defence of France during 1814. Wherever they fought they won and helped steady the raw French conscripts.
What do you get in this boxed set?
You get 60 figures wearing campaign dress of greatcoats and covered shakos. There are pose options of marching, advancing and firing line, Plus there are officers, drummers and standard bearers (2 figure options for each command type). There are 64 heads in covered shakos showing the variety and character of expression you have come to enjoy and expect in Victrix sets.
What else can you use these figures for?
This figure set has a lot of versatility. We designed the heads to have the thistle shaped plume rather than just the pom-pom. This gives the figures a lot more flexibility to make other units of Napoleon’s Elite infantry on campaign. All you do is remove the top of the tuft to make the Middle Guard, Turin Velites and some units of Line Chasseurs. By leaving the tuft on you can make line Grenadiers, Line Voltigeurs, Tirailleurs, Chasseurs and Carabiniers.
